Built by a Developer,
for Developers
The story behind PulseAPI — and why we built it.
PulseAPI was born out of frustration.
After 25 years of building web applications, I got tired of watching teams pay $2,000+/month for API monitoring tools that were bloated, complex, and designed for enterprises — not the rest of us. The tools existed, but they felt like they were built by committees trying to justify enterprise pricing, not by developers who actually had to use them.
I'm Scott, and I built PulseAPI to be the monitoring tool I always wanted: smart enough to catch real problems, simple enough to set up in minutes, and priced fairly for teams of any size.
PulseAPI is bootstrapped, profitable by design, and built to last. No venture capital pressure to grow at all costs. No compromises on quality to hit arbitrary deadlines. Just a focused product that does one thing really well: keeping your APIs healthy.
The Principles Behind PulseAPI
-
Simple over complex: 5-minute setup is a feature, not a footnote. If it takes hours to configure, we've failed.
-
Fair pricing: $29/month for serious monitoring. Not $2,000. Developers deserve tools that don't require a CFO approval.
-
Honest alerts: Alert fatigue kills teams. We use AI to alert you to real problems — not false positives.
-
Built to last: Bootstrapped and profitable by design. We're not chasing an exit. We're building something that lasts.
