Configuring Alerts

Understand how detection rules and notifications work in PulseAPI.

This guide is being written. Check back soon, or email us if you need help now.

Default Detection Rules

When you sign up, PulseAPI automatically creates default detection rules for your account:

  • HTTP Error Detection — Alerts when an endpoint returns a 4xx or 5xx status code
  • Slow Response Detection — Alerts when response time exceeds your configured threshold
  • Connection Failure — Alerts when the endpoint can't be reached at all

Notification Channels

Your signup email is automatically configured as a notification channel. When an alert fires, you'll receive an email with:

  • Which endpoint triggered the alert
  • The type of problem detected
  • The time of detection
  • A direct link to the endpoint in your dashboard
